Albuquerque, NM Update

Hi everyone!

A quick note to update you on the findings and repair that was done on the RV this past Monday.  It was supposed to have been a 4 hour job but it quickly turned into 8 hours.

The shop was a KZ (RV manufacturer) authorized center for Durango Gold units.  Although the desired MoRyde suspension was not able to be procured, at least the needed bolts and shackles needed were.  During installation, they also had to perform an alignment to assure proper placement and installation.

Below are the damaged ones that were removed.  These show the bushings either completely gone or damaged and peeling away from the metal bolts.  Also notice the gauge on the plates.  These were caused by not beveling the springs.  As a result, the sharp ends were digging and cutting into the plate where it could have caused a catastrophic failure if not replaced.  So yeah, we were very lucky.

The shredded undercarriage was not addressed due to time issues.  Our time in Albuquerque was done and this shop did not have the needed parts that needed to be ordered and would not have been received for an unknown time frame.  These repairs will have to be done at a different facility to be yet determined.

Yesterday we arrived at our final destination, Oliver Lee Memorial State Park in Alamogordo, NM.  The park is a good size with sites very separated and private.  Below are 3 pics showing the view from our site.  This is a valley and the mountains can be seen in the distance and immediately to our East or back of RV.
